Bionexum Ventures is dedicated to the identification, evaluation, analysis and investment recommendation of biopharmaceutical projects and assets to continue the pharmaceutical development. Additionally, Bionexum Ventures may participate in financing of early stage biotechnology companies with outstanding technologies. Bionexum Ventures is run by Dr. Juan José Pérez Villar, founder and managing director of Bionexum Ventures, has proven track record bridging the gap between laboratory findings and clinical applications. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—spanning basic scientists, clinicians, and industry partners—has led the successful development of product candidates from discovery to the clinic. His leadership has opened the door to novel therapeutic strategies moving toward to clinical testing. Dr. Perez Villar holds a solid academic background, having earned his M.Sc. in biochemistry and Ph.D. in Immunology and Inflammation degrees from the Autonoma of Madrid University (Spain) and his postdoctoral training at Bristol Myers-Squibb (Princeton, NJ-USA) where he gained extensive expertise in drug development in immunology and oncology. Over the years, established himself as a leading expert in cancer immunotherapy, and more recently as a Biopharma professional, he is focusing on innovative approaches to cancer treatment and personalized medicine. In addition to his research accomplishments, he is an experienced manager that brings bottom line expertise to corporate progress. Key experience includes launching start-ups, engaging investors, product licensing to generate revenue as well as a significant network of executive colleagues in biopharma industry and relationship with venture capital firms. Further, Dr. Pérez Villar endows educational competences in bio-medical sciences, communicates effectively and exhibits excellent professional knowledge/skills. Dr. Pérez Villar has been CEO of the imumno-oncology company Leadartis advancing the lead product from discovery into a first-in-human clinical study leveraging his extensive experience in early-stage projects and companies through the strategic and operational challenges critical for success in this dynamic industry. Previously, he was Director of business development at Biolty (Madrid , Spain), a consulting firm specialized in the biopharmaceutical sector, Director of the department of business development opportunities at the CEU- Cardenal Herrera University (Valencia, Spain); Manager of business Development department, senior investigator cancer therapeutics oncology at the biopharmaceutical company Agensys / Astellas Inc. (Santa Monica, CA, USA), and investigator oncology drug discovery at the multinational pharmaceutical company Bristol- Myers Squibb Co. (Princeton , NJ , USA).
